About Dr. Kesner

Dr. Amy Kesner has been dedicated to the field of mental health for over 20 years. She holds a doctorate in Psychology from Saybrook University and is licensed in Oklahoma as both a Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Drug and Alcohol Counselor (LADC). Her expertise spans various areas, including grief and loss, addiction, family issues, trauma, depression, and motivation for personal change.
Dr. Kesner has extensive experience working with children who have been abused or neglected, particularly those in the Therapeutic Foster Care system, a role she held for over 15 years. She has provided alcohol and drug counseling for more than two decades, serving clients through private practice, the Department of Corrections, and Drug Court programs. She also worked with patients at Brookhaven Psychiatric Hospital in Tulsa, offering both individual and group therapy.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Kesner is a published co-author, contributing to ReVision: A Journal of Consciousness and Transformation on the topic of therapeutic horseback riding for children in foster care. In 2012, she founded Amy Kesner Counseling Services to expand her reach and focus on education, counseling, life skills training, and development. Since 2016, she has served as Clinical Director at Recovery in Oklahoma’s Tulsa location.
Dr. Kesner also has served on various boards to support human change and growth in a variety of environments and corporations. She continues to share her knowledge through speaking engagements and community outreach, aiming to educate and support those in need.
